How beautiful to see Lakelanders take such a GREAT moment in time as we gathered around a Haus table to listen & speak to the hard places in our culture. United City is beyond thrilled to host such a monumental cultural event, that allowed us rise above our circumstances & embrace perspectives of our city’s victories & vices, in the hope of cultivating bridges in the gaps of our society.

These are just a few ways to follow thru & engage:

• Join Lakeland City Commissioners at the RP Funding Center 6pm on 11/14 for a community forum on whether to move, alter, add to or leave alone the 1910 Munn Park monument.
• The Polk School District is launching a “Community School Initiative” to adopt schools as a organizational partner or volunteer mentor to meet needs of the under-served. Contact the Polk County District Office or your neighborhood school to learn more.
• Participate in PEACE : Polk Ecumenical Action Council for Empowerment as they bring social justice initiatives to strengthen our communities like youth arrest rehabilitation & mental health. This year they are addressing Affordable Housing, to get involved call (863) 686-8665
